Frequently Asked Questions
Q: What are the benefits to working with you?
We are proud to be a team of both artists and producers, which means you receive not only exceptional floral designs, but also a seamless and stress-free planning experience. We are committed to an organized planning process, timely responses, and professional execution to ensure your event unfolds beautifully and effortlessly.
With over 10 years of experience in the floral design industry, we’ve had the privilege of working with countless clients to bring their vision to life. We feel privileged when families return to us time and time again for other weddings and events.
At the heart of Heart & Soil is also a genuine passion for the art of floristry. Every arrangement, every design, and every event reflects our dedication to the craft. We take great care in ensuring each detail aligns with our client’s vision, and we go to great lengths to source the finest seasonal flowers available, while continually pushing ourselves creatively and staying true to our ethos.
Q: What kind of weddings or events do you specialize in?
A: We generally align with couples that want their wedding to be design-forward, refined, understated, and, most importantly, a good time. We work in all different types of locations and venues, partnering with clients and their planning teams to transform a space into a wedding celebration.
Q: How much can we edit the list deliverables or mood board once signing the contract?
A: We completely understand that planning is an evolving process, and we're here to support every step of the way.
Alterations or additions to the list of deliverables can be made up to 4 weeks before the day of the wedding with the consent of all parties and cannot be reduced below 10% of original total price.
After signing on as a client, we’ll schedule a design launch call to discuss any edits you’d like to make to the mood board. Following this, our team will create a detailed design deck that includes inspiration images for each deliverable, reflecting your preferences. We also offer two rounds of revisions to ensure that the final design truly captures your vision. We value collaboration and want to make sure our designs align with your taste and style.
Q: Do you find sourcing local limits the varieties of flowers available?
A: In the sense that humanity is used to having unlimited options at our fingertips–maybe, but sourcing locally also allows for a unique opportunity to explore beautiful, seasonal varieties that might not be available elsewhere. So while we might not opt to ship in the same roses that everyone else has, we do go to great lengths to seek out and offer unique, locally grown materials that will differentiate and elevate your wedding. By sourcing locally, we get blooms that are fresher and in- season, too, which means they last longer and look more vibrant. This is a win-win in our book.
Q: Do you include samples as a part of the design process?
A: Sample meetings aren’t automatically included in our standard contract. If, by the time we get through our initial design rounds, you would still like to see a sample, we are more than happy to accommodate this and set something up 8-10 weeks before your wedding date for an additional cost. We caveat that the purpose of these is to gauge overall design aesthetic and to see the flowers next to the other elements in a tablescape, rather than about the particular varieties of the flowers because the seasons are so nuanced and availability changes quickly.
Q: How many staff members will you have on-site?
A: This is totally dependent on the scope of the project. However, we will say that we staff to make sure we adhere to the timeline, have the ability to spend time on the details, and have the flexibility to address unforeseen issues–such as weather conditions–with ease.
