MARCH ELOPEMENT IN THE HUDSON VALLEY

On a fine, sunny Saturday in March Lauren & Nick took the quick train ride up to Beacon from NYC for their intimate wedding ceremony in Black Rock Forest.

While the date of Lauren and Nick’s elopement was days away from the first day of spring, the Hudson Valley was still a winter scene; beautifully bare, in my opinion. To reflect the season and surroundings, we used tulips and locally-grown mauve hellebores alongside grasses, tallow berries, and pussy willow, for a natural, golden, foraged winter look for the flowers.

Many of the details of the day were organized by Joshua Brown, their stunning photographer, making the planning a breeze for Lauren & Nick who preferred to keep their wedding day low-key but intimate and special. The day started off at Cambell & Cambell , a hair salon located in Beacon, NY. The couple got ready at the Linden House in Newburgh, NY, while the actual ceremony took place a short drive away in Black Rock Forest in Cornwall and was officiated by Rebecca Brown, Joshua’s sweet wife.
