Ikebana Class at Folkways Wines
Participants will learn to design nature-inspired, seasonal arrangements inspired by Ikebana, the Japanese art of arranging flowers. Our time will be spent in creative conversation as we guide participants through Heart & Soil's techniques on creating texture and movement in arrangements, thinking about color, and choosing floral varieties. This workshop will focus on the ephemeral beauty of spring flowers and the value of designing with season in mind. Heart & Soil is thrilled to be participating in the Atlas Spring Market here in Newburgh over Mother's Day weekend! We will have ready made bouquets or single stems for sale if you want to create your own arrangement.
Other vendors include some of my favorite gardeners and growers, local community gardens, artisans, designers, and community organizations.
